THE MANUFACTURING

CHOICE OF PARTS:

We have spent the last few years looking and testing different components from various manufacturers .

We are sure now we offer a unique pickup made to your specific requirements .

the result is a unique pickup with a unique sound .

 THE WINDING :

The winding process of our pickups is the result of 3 years of research of our team here on the island .

The winding is done by a CNC machine. Is it possible to “scatter wound”pickups with a CNC machine ?

The answer is YES

The software of the machine allows control of each layer and simulates aleatory winding. this the standard of scatter wound .

the result is a mean ,larger and higher resonance peak of the pickup and a harmonic spectrum larger and with better definition of the sound.

Another element very important to the winding is the tension of the wire.

we use a tensioner . We adjust and change the tension of the wire through the winding .

The more tension we apply on the wire results in more resistance ( in KΩ)

the tension control of the wire can be beneficial for unwaxpotted pickups and can reduce microphonic problems with signal to noise ratio .

 MAGNETS, SOLDER AND WAXPOTTED:

All the magnets are tested by a tesla meter . They are charged and uncharged for every kind of pickup .

So it’s possible to simulate aging of the magnet to recreate vintage pickups are very close to the original .

All soldering points are checked by a electronic microscope to prevent any bad connections before we test by a multimeter.

The time and the temperature of the wax potted on our pickups is adjusted for every model.

the wax potted prevent microphonic problems with high gain but not only.

the wax potted protection and also the winding avoids humidity on the magnets so there is no corrosion through time.

  PICKUPS TEST :

First with a multimeter we check the resistance, capacitance and inductance at 20°C (68°F) ambient temperature , that is the norm.

Because resistance changes with temperature .

The resistance , capacitance and inductance give the first idea of the output volume and tonality of the pickups.

The second test is made by an oscilloscope and a frequency generator to check the resonance peak and the frequency rang of the pickup.

the second test gives the level of the output signal clearly and gives too the frequency tone of your pickup .
